The Integral Ecology Bibliography (IEB) is an open source research tool made by and for researchers in the field of integral ecology. It contains over 800 sources from eight different languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Indonesian, and Polish) and is regularly updated by our team at the Laudato Si’ Institute. Compiled using the open source software of Zotero, the bibliography is freely available for download on this website, or directly accessible online.
Sources in the bibliography are furnished with all the requisite information for use in academic publications. When available, abstracts or summaries have been attached in English. Links and doi-numbers leading directly to a selected source can be found on the “information” page, next to the item in question. Items include books, papers, chapters, presentations, dissertations, interviews, news articles, and more. A full or personalized selection of sources can be extracted using the options made available by Zotero.
All items in the document have been extensively labelled, and can be navigated using the categorizations at the bottom-left of the file. Sources are labelled according to school (colour), content (number), and text-type (notes). The purpose of the labels is to allow researchers from different investigative fields – such as theology, philosophy, economics, politics, and more – to quickly locate sources within their specialization – such as creation theology, ecological advocacy, or circular economies, to name a few. For an explanation of the labels, as well as a complete overview, you can download the user’s manual below. For further information about our methodology, you can click here.
The IEB database is seasonally updated. As we continue our search for more knowledge on integral ecology, we encourage you to do the same. Do you have any questions, comments or suggestions about the bibliography? Or do you feel that we missed an important source? Please email us at info@iebibliography.org, so that they may be incorporated into the database.
With the Integral Ecology Bibliography, we hope to offer a vital tool for researchers within and beyond the field of IE, so that they may share their knowledge and experience for the benefit of our Sister Mother Earth.
